To inspire your style choices, we ask stylish brides to share their sartorial secrets as part of our My Wedding Wardrobe series. We're checking out the dazzling wedding style of real bride Kasey; what she wore, how she wore it and where she sourced it... let's go!

Let’s get to know our bride… Kasey and her love Gavin met when they were working at a nightclub and she tells us all about their love story:

"We did not hit it off as even friends when we first met. Gavin was very stand off-ish with me at the beginning because at the time, he had seen a picture of me before I started working there and told all the guys working there 'she’s mine, I’m going to marry her.' He stuck to his word. He asked me out on a date few months later and at this stage I had already fallen in love with him as a person. So the rest was easy!"

They got engaged in 2023 and Gavin popped the question at the palatial fortification Alcazaba in Malaga, Spain - talk about romantic!

"We were moving to Australia six weeks later so I had no clue he was going to propose before then. We lived in Malaga for a few months during Covid and we climbed the castle a few times. But this time, they had opened a little bar within the trees of the castle and it overlooked the whole of Malaga city. I said to Gav, 'This is my favourite spot in the whole world' and he said once I said that, he was going to get down on one knee there. A few minutes later, he asked me, 'Can I look after you for the rest of our lives' with the most gorgeous ring."

She wanted an engagement dress that incorporated the Spanish culture and style and she sourced a lace mini in a local boutique which boasted a statement fringe accent.

Kasey describes her personal style as very fashion-fluid, she is not defined by one aesthetic or set of fashion rules. For her, it is about wearing what feels authentic in the moment rather than sticking to a single look or following trends. She curates her outfits around her mood and the occasion - no style is off the table from minimalist to bold, vintage to streetwear, or tailored to glamorous and sporty.

When it came to her wedding wardrobe, she wanted her outfits for her journey to the aisle to feel very different to her wedding dress.

"I do not wear white at all so I did find it hard to find a specific style while dressing during the wedding experience. I incorporated a lot of lace & sequins as I feel weddings are the best occasions to add bold materials & fabrics. They are not a part of my usual day to day style so I really wanted to bring them into my wedding wardrobe. I had a completely different experience when planning my wedding wardrobe. I lived in Australia for my whole wedding experience so I did not have many occasions to style & wear white to."

The details of her hen in St Tropez in the South of France were kept secret so it meant Kasey couldn't plan her wardrobe fully in advance. She had a little bit of information to go on from her bridesmaids which made the shopping experience surprisingly fun!

Kasey wore a selection of stunning lace looks from PrettyLittleThing and Missguided for her sun-kissed celebrations with her family and friends.

"I went heavy on lace as I knew my wedding dress has no laces but LOVE the look of it, it’s so elegant. I felt the lace details were appropriate as it always gives me 'old money energy' which matches the vibes of the South of France."

For 'The Wife of the Party' celebration, the bride-to-be sparkled in a silver embellished maxi dress by Sorelle.

"I wanted to make a statement. So the idea of the dress was to stand out which it most definitely did."

The bride began her special day in a silk slip dress and a beautiful lace robe from AliceCreationShop on Etsy.

She sourced the wedding dress of her dreams at True Society in Melbourne. The incredible off the shoulder gown boasted a fitted bodice and a full skirt making her the epitome of a classic and timeless bride.

"The thought behind my dress was never what I imagined. I always thought I would wear florals or sequins on my wedding dress. I tried on about 15 wedding dresses and only one of those was 'plain'. I booked an appointment in a wedding dress shop and sent them a lot of dress options from their website. One of my bridesmaids suggested I try on something a bit more classic or simple. When I arrived at the shop, they had none of the dresses I had chosen in stock online, only my now wedding dress. I think it was meant to be. My dress became more 'ME' as time went on, I grew a lot in personality & fashion in those two years of planning, so by the time my wedding came around, it was the perfect dress. MY DRESS!"

Kasey accessorised with crystal drop earrings and she slipped into pretty bow heels. She completed her breathtaking bridal look with a cathedral-length veil which was adorned with romantic 3D flowers.

"I was going to go without a veil on my wedding day - for many reasons, some being, I felt they may be a waste of money for the sake of a few hours and I couldn’t find a single nice veil that wasn’t over done or worn. I went in to collect my wedding dress and do my final try on with my maid of honour. She was late to the appointment so the lady told me to get into my dress and she would throw some veils on me to lengthen my appointment so my maid of honour could get to see me in my dress. The first veil she put on me, I FELL IN LOVE. It matched the dress so well & really pulled the look altogether."

She stunned in a halter skater mini from White Fox Boutique later which was her 'incase of emergency' dress!

"My wedding dress was big and heavy but my goal was to keep it on all day and night. You only get one wedding dress & one day to wear it (hopefully hehe), so I wanted to wear it until it fell off me. By 2am, the saxophonist was playing and I really wanted to DANCE. I asked my husband and maid of honour to get me out of my wedding dress for the last hour or two so I could really dance!"

She wanted to incorporate elements of her wedding dress into her look the next day from Fashion Nova.

"So I had a maxi dress, the top half was corset with off shoulders but the bottom half was sheer, so it was airy and light. Again... perfect for dancing!"

It was a sweet full-circle moment as the newlyweds celebrated with a mini-moon to Malaga where they got engaged.

"I tried to steer away from white at this point! On the last night, I wore an off-white knitted maxi dress from Shein. This dress had a Spanish look to it. It has the 3D florals which made it pop. I paired it with statement glasses and chunky bracelets."

"My biggest regret is not investing more in one or two pieces that you can wear again, maybe on an anniversary. So definitely invest if you can. Also not to follow trends online, they are trends for a reason and we all fall into the trap sometimes. You want your wedding wardrobe to be yours not someone else’s. You know your style & body. Wear what suits you best. You’re beautiful!"
