Laura & Ben’s Romantic & Intimate Wedding Day Gathering at Chateau Cazenac in The Dordogne

5 months ago 278

Laura and Ben married on 20th September 2025 at Chateau Cazenac in the Dordogne, a region they know well from years of holidays together.

France was a deliberate choice, and so was the intimacy of their beautiful and romantic day: a close gathering of friends and family, seasonal flowers in soft autumn tones, and a celebration built around feasting and being together. Chateau Cazenac was the first venue they viewed and the only one they needed to see.

Laura wore the Clementine gown from Indie Bride London, created by talented Love My Dress recommended designer Miina. It was the last dress she tried on during her visit to this lovely and welcoming boutique and though the design was still in construction and not actually finished at the time, she knew in that moment it was the one.

Her hair was dressed with simple pearl pins by her best friend and talented hair stylist, Aimèe-Blu, and she wore pretty pearls loaned by Ben’s mother alongside a pair of pearl earrings by Kiki & Belle.

Laura was accompanied by her mother down the aisle for her outdoor ceremony in the grounds of this elegant chateau and the day was captured beautifully by the wonderful Frances Mary Sales – enjoy!

You’ll find only the best, most talented suppliers and exclusive hire venues in our directory.

We wanted a small intimate wedding and to bring our closest friends and family to France , a place where we have spent many holidays and have amazing memories together. I wanted the colours to represent the season and be soft and romantic and let the surroundings speak for themselves.

We got married at Chateau Cazenac. This venue was the first we saw and loved it at first sight. The intimate, romantic setting and incredible views sold it to us. It just has an amazing feel to it when you’re there.

My mum accompanied me to the ceremony, to the sound of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’. Our ceremony was lead by Alison Phillips. We had traditional vows but a very personal meaningful ceremony – my mum red a short poem. Our rings were from a local jeweller in France, Atelier Lilor.

Photography

Our photographer was Frances Mary Sales. Id seen a wedding by her that I adored and knew she was for us. Her photos capture light and the feeling of the moments so well. I would recommended her to anyone. She is also such a lovely person to have on the day!

Our videographer was Katy Fendall Flims – who was also lovely to have on the day.

We first met in 2012 in a nightclub and had our first date in covent garden. We then got engaged in November 2023 in Covent garden under the Christmas tree near where we had our first date. We were engaged for 2 years before marrying in September 2025!

The Reception

We put a disco ball in the orangery but other than flowers we let the beauty of the venue speak for itself.

For guest favours, we went to a local haberdashery shop that did wedding stationary and they did the cutest little favour boxes. We then just bought some chocolate to put in and made up the boxes ourselves.

I did the stationery myself with the help of Zazzle.

Floristry was provided by Lucy at Les Fleurs De La Terre – we went with seasonal flowers and colours.

Catering was provided by Lovage and Pumpernickel and our cake was a croquembouche tower, provided by a local bakery.

Evening & Dancing

We loved everything but the ceremony and the Party were highlights! Once we could fully relax and celebrate with everyone. I didn’t leave the dance floor all night

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Remember the day is about you so make sure you get what you want! If you have a planner, make sure your choices and ideas are heard and come to life.

Trust that it will all come together. It is the best day ever so enjoy each moment and make sure you are present once it comes to the day. Take a few moments out just you and your partner.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the small details it all falls into place on the day.

We pretty much stayed around our budget, but the spread sheet definitely went out of the window! We saved money on doing our own stationery and using digital invites. We also had minimal decor.
