For London based couple Ollie and Annie, love was a journey that quite literally spanned continents before it reached the altar. From a first date on a simple walk to an epic Australian cycle ride, on 20th September 2025, the couple welcomed 130 day guests for a church ceremony, followed by an evening party at the bride's grandmother's home at the historic Moor Park House in Farnham in Surrey, England. The entire celebration was beautifully and naturally documented through the lenses of Ben Atkins Photography, capturing a historic family day that will be cherished for generations.

But let's hear a little bit about how the couple met first, as it turns out there's was a circuitous path to the altar... Having originally been set up by Ollie’s aunt, Viv, their first date was a simple walk around Wimbledon Common. The connection was instant, but life immediately tested them with long distance as Annie set off on her epic pedal from Perth to Sydney. After months of maintaining their bond from opposite sides of the world, Ollie flew out to Australia to conquer the final stretch by her side.

Years later, on a freezing December morning on a mountain in North Wales during a Storm Darragh red weather warning, Ollie asked Annie to marry him. "It was sunrise on the slopes of Moel Siabod, a lesser-known mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales," says Annie. 

But fast forward to the wedding day and Annie's naturally pretty bridal beauty look was created by makeup artist and hair stylist Morgan Palmer. "From the very beginning, our priority was for the ceremony to reflect the true meaning and significance of marriage, " says Annie." Everything else; the food, décor, and celebration, was simply an added bonus to what was already a truly wonderful day."

The couple’s transport was packed with sentimental value. Annie arrived at the church in a vintage Morris Isis from The Classic and Vintage Car Company. To travel to the reception as husband and wife, Ollie took the wheel of his dad's vintage Volvo as a tribute to his late grandfather, who was a dedicated Volvo specialist.

The bridesmaids all wore a beautiful mix of individual, self-chosen dresses following a cohesive palette of dusty blues and navy. The flower girls looked darling in the Thea blue embroidered back-bow tiered dresses from Monsoon.

Wearing a gown by Madi Lane Bridal, sourced from Isabella Grace Bridal boutique in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Annie paired her breathtaking look with elegant Perfect Bridal Peony ivory lace block heels from Lace & Favour. Her accessories combined modern edge with timeless elegance, featuring earrings from Bruna, paired with a Monica Vinader 17-inch fine gold chain and a gold vermeil baroque pearl pendant.

Ollie looked smart in a tailored suit from SuitSupply and shoes by Samuel Windsor. His groomsmen wore their own sharp suits.

The deeply religious service became a beautiful family affair. Their grandparents stepped forward to pray over them, and 'Auntie Viv' - the woman who started it all - delivered a moving sermon. The church band was comprised entirely of close friends and family, and the congregation closed the service with a triumphant rendition of the 1905 Christian hymn, I Stand Amazed in the Presence, honouring both families' shared Christian heritage.

The wedding rings as well as Annie's engagement ring were designed and handmade by Pruden and Smith.

The ceremony took place in the pretty 900-year-old All Saints Church in Crondall in Surrey.

Following the ceremony, the wedding party moved to the grounds of Moor Park House in Farnham, a beautiful heritage house which is also the stunning home and garden of Annie’s grandparents. "Holding the reception at Annie’s grandparents’ home made the day feel even more personal and meaningful," says Annie.

As a nod to their favorite hobbies, the couple made their own wedding favours. Annie, a passionate gardener, propagated fresh mint plants, while Ollie, a keen bird watcher, selected birdseed hearts from Robins and Rascals to line the tables

The garden aesthetic was brought to life by Flowers by Becky, providing organic floral designs that seamlessly blended with the estate grounds.

Annie’s sisters took the reins as MCs, even surprising guests with a personalised wedding newspaper complete with games for the tables. Annie’s brother delivered a beautiful grace before everyone tucked into a rustic hog roast.

"The outdoor marquee and its beautiful décor created a stunning setting, and every detail came together perfectly," says Annie.

Laughter and personality echoed through the reception. Later that night, the newlyweds kicked off the party with a high-energy first dance to (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life, backed by the showband Groove Empire.

The wedding cake was a labour of love: Annie baked a magnificent two-tiered, four-sponge cake the day before the wedding, topping it that morning with fresh fruit and seasonal blooms.

The couple honeymooned in Turkey and travelled in Cappadocia via Istanbul. "It was a fantastic trip and one to remember. Truthfully, I would recommend it as a holiday, but not a honeymoon," says Annie.

Any advice for couples planning their wedding? "Yes! Either get a wedding planner, or just don’t sweat about the details," says Annie. "Your wedding will be special because of the commitment you make to one another and the wonderful people in your lives that come to witness you do it. For that reason, prioritise memories (such as your photographer/videographer), and keep the rest simple!"
