Some love stories are simply written in the stars - or in the case of Kelly and Tunde, it all began with a modern spark - on Tinder. Based in Naas in Kildare, this beautiful couple brought together their multicultural Irish and Nigerian backgrounds for a breathtaking, high energy and truly emotive and family-centric wedding at Boyne Hill House, Meath on August 21st 2025.

With 100 of their closest family and friends around them, their day was a vibrant masterclass in blending family history, profound resilience and pure joy. After a Christmas Day proposal, Kelly says she had been "obsessed with Boyne Hill House for the longest time!' so knew they should marry there. "They have a fairy light tunnel there which is the stuff of every bride's dreams!" she days. "But really, just having a venue just for us and for our children was super important. We wanted our guests to have accommodation on site, and with a smallish wedding we didn't want to feel ‘lost’ in massive spaces. Boyne offered everything from multiple ceremony options to an amazing menu."

With the venue sorted, it was time to pick the dress and Kelly's gown, which is by Pronovias and bought at Truly Bridal Boutique in Naas, was nothing short of show-stopping. Her bridal bouquet was created by Seasons of Love in Meath and she is wearing her mum's wedding earings. "The morning was so special, so much fun."

To keep their daughters central to the celebration without any pressure, the couple hired a nanny for the day. "We wanted our children to be happy and comfortable. We didn’t want endlessly posed pictures taking up the day," says Kelly. "It was all about bringing all of our nearest and dearest together and having a big party celebrating us and them. Honestly, we may never have the opportunity to have all our guests together again so it was really important for us to be able to spend time with everyone - family was at the centre of our day."

Meanwhile handsome Tunde was the epitome of dapper groom, blending perfect tailoring with details reflecting his Nigerian heritage. His suit is from independent store, Whelans Menswear in Naas.

"The aesthetic of the day was inspired entirely by the rich, vibrant furnishings of the hotel," says Kelly.

For Kelly and Tunde, this wedding was far more than just a party, though; it was a deeply meaningful celebration of their beautiful blended family. After Tunde suffered a stroke in 2023 shortly after their youngest was born, the couple’s priorities shifted entirely toward what truly matters: comfort, connection and their children.

The flowergirls and bridesmaids were all dressed in pretty floral dresses from Next.

Guests were treated to an emotional roller coaster of a ceremony. The couple wrote their own heartfelt vows, and Kelly's brother delivered a moving reading of Seamus Heaney’s poem Scaffolding as Gaeilge (in Irish). In a breathtakingly poignant moment, the room listened to a compilation of voice notes from Tunde’s late mother, ensuring her spiritual presence was felt by everyone."When Tunde suggested we write our own vows I nearly lost my life, but I am so glad we did it," says Kelly.

Then, the energy shifted into an spectacular traditional Nigerian showcase! Coordinated all the way from Lagos by Tunde’s sister, Fatima, the couple changed into traditional attire. Kelly experienced wearing a beautiful gele (traditional headtie) for the first time, and guests looked on in awe as a Nigerian Celebrant, drummer, and DJ introduced traditional customs, including the prostrating and formal presentation to seek the family's permission.

In Nigerian wedding traditions, cash is actively used during celebrations as a symbol of love, public support and a promise to provide. Guests and family members dance and toss paper currency (traditionally the Nigerian Naira) onto the bride and groom which respect as well as being a contribution toward the couple's new life.

From the moment the couple entered their reception to a showstopping rendition of Pink Pony Club by wedding singer Rebecca Creighton, the atmosphere was electric. Boyne Hill House pulled out all the stops, even customising their top-tier menu to feature delicious Nigerian options.

Later in the evening, the couple shared an intimate first dance to Lewis Capaldi's Pointless before the TSO (The Signifant Others) Band took over to keep the dance floor packed.

"If I was to sum up our wedding in three words I would say 'fun', 'colour' and' 'culture'," says Kelly. "You will
have many people offering advice and guidance but mine is that you deserve to enjoy your day! Your
guests will love seeing you in your element. Also, stay close to your new husband/wife and take moments together. The really does day fly by!"
